The Black Heritage Festival Pageant is held at the Lake Charles Civic Center annually in February. The pageant is open to girls ages 2-19 and just opened up divisions for boys ages 4-8.
The Black Heritage Festival Pageant promotes inner beauty among girls and boys of all ethnicity, while producing positive role models for the community and promoting self-confidence, self-worth, moral, academic and social support for other youth.
The pageant is designed to give girls and boys a look at the positive side of pageantry and help in raising self-esteem. Many have said how they have used the skills they learned through our system to strengthen their personal lives, especially in public speaking and job interviews.
